when running over some bumps in the road. I have checked spare tire to see if it was loose, checked all springs to make sure bolts were tight. It started doing this the last couple of weeks. The only thing I see that may be possilbly causing this is the overload spring tapping the main leaf pack? I have had the truck camper on for several trips now. When the truck camper is off, could the spring packs have lost some arch allowing this to happen on occasion?

could be... . Before I read the camper part I was going to say the lower shock bolt on the front. I replaced shocks one time and had a clunk there until I tighened it..... the overloads might be "just" hitting and I have heard of a overload slap on those. .

I would take the overloads off and get the Roadmaster coil spring from Mr. Bobs. it is progressive on the weight and feels like Airbags.

It's not the overloads. Don't let anyone talk you into getting rid of them for air bags. Nothing better then overloads when you have the camper on.

Griz, I agree.

My buddy has an alignment shop and I am headed over there this PM. I'll let you know what we find...

I believe I found it. The bracket that holds my AirDog may have worked itself loose and allowed the pump head to make contact with the cab. Anyway, I loosened it and moved it away from cab as far as as possible and I have not heard the thumping noise on ride thru town...
