GDOA and GTDR Gathering for August (St. Louis Area)

May Madness 2004?

At the drag strip I was selling DHRA hats and shirts to the folks. One kid stopped by and was looking at the hats and DHRA information.

Me: Do you race?

He: No, I have a Ford.

Yet another famous quote "Matt ,smoke that guy" as this LITTLE I think Merc Benz tailgates me,then cuts off firechick and ends up well kinda in a cloud of soot... ... :-laf first soot then brake lights disapearing in the volcanic ash!!!!!!

Oh and you can't forget the exhaust blowing apart in Holeshots truck, first soot from the stack, then soot from under the truck. .

3" flexpipe separating from the pre-stack mandrel bends.....

All the folks standing by the road at the pulling track got to see the same thing. I poured the coals on coming out of the parking lot... and that sucker came off again.....

There's a weird haze when it comes out from under the truck... and a big nasty cloud when it comes out of the stack.

quote "Only two chairs were broke when I left the Roadhouse. Were there any more?"

Like Jim said, no more broken chairs, but Piers did lose a couple of more "races" to Wayne. He's got a pretty good peanut chuckin arm for a Canook. :D

By the way, did any of you make it over to the camp ground? I sort of nodded off in the truck shortly after parking and didn't come to until 5:00am. The place was pretty silent by then.

I'm outa here, gotta go figure out the fueling problem on the truck so it will at least make a little smoke(and hopefully a little more rpm) at the next pull. :(

Later,

Paul

I let Piers win one race with a margrita. I got all 6-8 of the amber boch. The jeagermeister, sex on the beach and tequila was nice to break up the beer races. My table had somewhere around 7 pitchers of beer. I think I overherd something about a $300 bill and that was after the food was paid for. Those chairs were a little weak. At least, I wasnt the only one who shattered one. The rest of the weekend was fun, too. We need to have a truckload of peanuts next year at the main rally.

If I met ya, glad to meet ya, If i didnt, come back next year. incase met ya and you were lucky enough not to know who I was, I was the big young guy wearing a black bushmaster shirt and red dodge hat on saterday, and TDR HELL 2000 rally shirt with same hat with a muddy green truck on sunday.

Bummer about the rain on Sunday but folks who got to the track early did get in a few runs. I had a good time. Wish I'd had the energy to clean up Baby Jaine for the Show and Shine, but getting a trophy from two suicide blondes is not my idea of a reward...

Jean

I had Fest3er where a thong under his jeans just in case you won. We had you covered!

Eric ...

Too funny ... . what I'd give to have a picture of that!!!

If only I was quick enough to capture a picture of Steve St Laurent Sunday morning coming out of his house wearing his skivies and shoes ... ... ... another prize shot missed!!!

The jeagermeister, sex on the beach and tequila

So that's what those were, I can barely remember drinking that.

I think I overheard something about a $300 bill and that was after the food was paid for.

Guess that is were my cash went to also, just knew the next morning a bunch was gone. :D

Good times without a doubt!

Here's another good quote:

formula gets the replacement injector line on, starts the truck and checks for leaks. He kills the engine, heaves a huge sigh, and just stares for a minute.

"What's going on?", I ask.

"That was a huge reduction in pucker factor", he says.

:p

... and to top it off... . The line that leaked on his truck did not leak on the truck he took the 'new' line off.

We all made it home just fine, that's what counts in the end.

This one is kinda related matt...

Cute Bartender @ Roadhouse: "What the Hell are you doing??"

Me: (with a 9 foot straw in my hand) ... "drinking margaritias"

Cute Bartender @ Roashouse: "get your straw out of our margaritia machine!!!" :D

Yep, and I am picking up the new replacement line for that guys truck in about 10 minutes and am going up to his house tomorrow to install it for him.

I'll thank him for all of us when I see him.

Us diesel folks need to stick together...

Andy

Good to hear Andy. I don't know many people that will loan you an injector off their own truck, I know I couldn't do it. . He's a hell of a guy.

You might consider giving it to him since the swapped line doesn't leak. But then, I suppose it's his call.

:-laf :p It was pretty high there for a while. I will surely not forget that experience.

NFI why my line didn't leak on the other truck. I bet it would over time though. But, SmokinRam is gonna take care of that :D

Good to see everyone made it home,Weaties-whens the cookout!!!!!!!I'm gonna call scott and have him bring a Pacbrake for me. Wish I had it going through those mountains. A few of these:eek: and some of these:-{} when no one would slow down for me. Smokes the brakes for a while:{

Drat. If I'da known that, I would have washed Baby Jaine. Fest is cuddly.

Jake: Was it the brunette you were dealing with? She had a problem with me drinking out of the pitcher... . that was until I decided to ignore her. :-laf Hey, if you ever want to run faster - take that Reunel off !! (you parked right behind me at the pulls... . )

Andy: Thanks for taking care of that injector line for us. I say "us" because I really do believe that we are a close knit bunch. I seriously felt as if my own truck was hurt when Sean's truck decided to pee all over the place.

For the most part, we do stick together - now that's a group I'm proud to say I'm part of.
