Happened to be home and caught a thundershower moving in. People never believe us when we tell them how quickly the showers move in and the strength of them as well...

It’s something to do with the surrounding hills, we are in a trench for lack of a better word.

So I’ll share as best I can...

Sky turns color, at this point we have already been down front and picked up anything that could become a projectile. We have come home in the past and found stuff that blew into the treeline behind our road which is a good 250’ or better. Gas grills have been blown off the deck and trashed as well..

Can't wait to see.... I like cool stuff like that. Here in Texas, we used to joke raining on one side of the street and dry and sunny on the other with a slow moving shower.

Wow, that was fast. Nice!

Cheers, Ron

Now the cool part..the light is just right..

You can see the bottom of lake for quite a distance...good time to find something you lost like my wife’s FitBit that fell off her wrist while helping a kid on the tube behind the boat....if you had the stones to be in the water right then....

I’m up on my deck with the iPhone on zoom and I can see everything on the bottom..

Not sure where you are located but I've been caught in a few wild storms up on Lake George They move in fast and get crazy. I've seen pick nic tables go flying in wind gusts. 10 Min later all is calm with just the distant rumble of thunder.... Mother Nature at her best and worst....

North Central Maine.

I can’t imagine it on a big body of water. It must be just nuts..

I recall a bass tournament I was fishing several years ago on Sam Rayburn , a very large body of water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Rayburn_Reservoir It was almost dead calm when I happened to look to the west at a line of black clouds heading east. I was less than 10 miles from the marina, normally less than a 10 minute run, and was navigating 7 ft rollers by the time I got to the entrance. In an hour the temp dropped 20 degrees. Of the 100 or so boats that were competing 5 were swamped and totaled when they were blown into the shoreline. Many did not make it to the marina in time for weigh in, probably found shelter on the west side of the lake. (not worth the risk of coming in for the prize money) Driving back home, about 300 miles, we ran into freezing rain. I had been fishing in a t-shirt.

The whole mid-west and eastern US have had some real weird weather this year. Last week after our family trip to MI., my neighbor said it had not rain for 9 days while we were gone. The very next day we got over 3.25 inches of rain in less than 4 hours. Will we talk again and he said I can't leave any more since everything got watered and it has been raining on and off.
Will we are off again this week for four days with our youngest grand kids camping. That is about all we can take with three grand kids ranging in age from 3 to 7 years old.

I saw a fire pit, chairs, wood pile and a lake.

That's like waving a flag to me and saying can you find me!

Rest of the story later via cell.

It seems to be everywhere. Phoenix Az. was way below the usual temps through May and the Monsoons still have not appeared, very strange.

This was not in the forecast either, still raining and the girls are freaking out as there is a Birthday Party starting here at high noon...

Sandy is getting the Air Hockey table ready so the kids have something to do until (if) the rain stops...

So speaking of fire pits..

Two weekends ago Sandy had both older boys up for an overnight, pitched a tent on the lawn and
she had a killer fire going in the pit. We cooked Hot Dogs over the fire for supper. Sandy had S’more material all ready for later on. She and I went
front to get the tent ready about dark. Boys come up and proudly announce that they put the fire out with their Super Soakers.....
I thought Sandy was going to kill them, I said that is the Boy Scout training...:D
