I replaced the front rotors and pads with slotted rotors and carbon kevler pads from EGR. Immediately after, I hear a "ticking noise" coming from driver side front wheel. No obstructions and no metal-to-metal contact present. Break in/bedding in procedure was followed exactly.

While changing rotors, noticed hub bearing assembly was making noise, sounded like bad bearings. Bearings replaced. Noise still present. Replaced u-joints. Noise still present.

Noise presents itself after driving approximately 2,000 feet. Sound intensifies while steering right. With no steering input, ticking is constant and rythmic. With even slight steering input to right, noise intensifies.

If slight brake pressure is added, sound goes away entirely.

Made a call to EGR. They indicate they've never heard of this problem.

Have tried taking truck for drive to duplicate noise, immediately came home, jacked up truck, spun wheel, removed wheel to see any issues,... all yielding negative results.

Also brought it to my shop; they cannot find anything defective.

Its a bad u joint at the axle , I had the same problem with my "96 ... . after a year it got bad enough to really show up... . I thought it was a loose backing plate ...

i am not sure how loud the noise is you are talking about but slotted or cross drilled and slotted rotors will make some noise. might be like a scuffing or clicking sound. What you are saying is something like what i have. i can only hear it when coasting at slow speed and windows down. do you have some way to make sure the rotors are true and there is no high spots on a slot?

If you have wheels skins installed, try removing them and retest for the clicks. I had ticking, turned out it was just the wheels skins.

I just developed the same type of noise on my last hunting trip and was nervous something expensive was wrong. it turned out that the dust shield on the back side of the rotor was nicking the slots in the rotor and when I turned right the slight flex would press them against the rotors harder and make it louder. I stuck a small pry bar between the rotor and the dust shield and bent the dust shield out and it solved the problem the noise is gone

I had this same problem ,and it was a wheel bearing on it's way out. I had replaced the brake shoes and then the U-joint. I findly pulled it apart again and then knocked out one of the bearings inside the hub to find that 1 bearing had started coming apart, but still was tight enough that you couldn't find any looseness in the wheel when it was jacked up.
