I POSTED HERE A WHILE BACK ABOUT A STRANGE TICKING NOISE WHILE UNDER LOAD. well 2 nites ago i was driving home and smelled diesel. it finally got so bad i pulled over. popped the hood and diesel was misting out from somwhere on the engine. i was on the highway so i drove it to the next exit where the check engine light came on. truck lost all power. it was wierd because the boost and egt guage would climb up but the truck wouldnt speed up. the tach wouldnt even move. well, i just about got off the ramp and the engine shut down. here is where it get's good: i called chrysler roadside. after describing the problem to the girl on the phone she called the fire department and state police! she wouldnt call a wreker untill they got there! anyway, 2 fire trucks showed up, threw some speedy dry under my truck, asked if i had a wrecker coming(i told them yes) and were on there way. i call chrysler roadside back and they send a wrecker. eta is a hour and a half! i've already been stranded for over an hour! i ask if i can lock up the truck and leave the scene. girl said no problem. well i get home and an hour later get a call from the tow company saying my truck wasnt there! the damn fire dept had it towed! i had to drive an hour back to the town where my truck was, pay $150 to get it out, then call chrysler roadside and go through the process all over again! BTW, my truck died at 4pm and i got it out of the impound at 9pm!

the dealer finally get's into my truck yesterday. #4 fuel line is split. tech said there was rust at the split also. do you guys think the ticking noise i heard was from this line? maybe it was leaking for a while and causing the engine to be out of balance? just waiting on a line now. once it's back together there going to address the ticking noise if it's still there. thank god i've been running over the road fuel and not the home heating oil. they would probally blame the problem on that!

I've never heard of that before. . Maybe some other guys here have... But I'm sorry you had such a bad time... That didn't sound like fun...
