Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Tidewater Machine, Norfolk, VA Reference

Has anyone bought a 12 valve long block from Tide Water Machine in Norfolk, VA? They advertise a re-manufactured 12 valve on eBay for $2,900 (plus your core) and they would pay freight for the long block & core return. They advertise that they only use premium cores, the long block is balanced & blueprinted to closer tolerances than factory, quality parts (fed mogul pistons, clevite bearings, melling oil pump, OEM Cummins gaskets, etc). This almost sounds too good to be true, but they say to check their references including UPS and the federal government. Anybody know anything about these guys?

Check my responce in the 3rd gen 5. 9 section as I already posted a reply there about them. I took the plunge and got one from them but it will be awhile before it is installed due to deployment. If you are local you can get a little better deal as they will cut back because of the free shipping. My thought process was that you cant go wrong. Even if there is a problem buying a core or used motor is a similiar price and know you have a motor to work with.
