Tie down points in the bed

Did the tie down points in the bed change between the 07 and 08 model years? I have an 07 and my dad has an 08 and we are putting a bedliner in his. My truck has some sort of plastic composite tie down points where his just has a metal loop. Was this a model year change or do the plastic tie downs get installed when you get a bedliner?

My '08 came with a plastic bed liner ( which I got rid of as fast as I could and had a spray in bed liner done) and has the metal loops like your dads. They must have changed them to metal for '08.

Did they seal the holes in the bed liner around the metal loops any way to keep "stuff" from getting under and around the bed liner?

If your asking about the plastic one, no. The loops just stuck through the plastic. I was never a fan of those slide in bed liners, they scratch the paint and rust under the bed liner, they are VERY slick in winter.
