Do you have to buy the whole tie rod assembly from dodge as a unit, priced at $313. Or do they make a aftermarket tie rod assembly that's better quality than the stock dodge unit? Its for an 05' 3500 srw 4x4.

I think you should look at the "new steering kit" made by Dodge. I think it's the best you can get right now and you may be able to get it under warranty. It's a lot beefer than what it replaces.

With the old stuff you have on your o5 Moog makes replacement parts that are better than what you had but you will still have a system that changes the Toe in settings as the truck bounces. The "New Mopar" Kit once you set it you forget it, much better design. You can save some money on the steering dampener by picking up a Menroe one (about $28 at Autozone or Pepboys) and useing a 3/8 black pipe nipple for the tiebar end.

I started this thread for my dad's 05', anyways, he decided to go with the mopar, its about twice as beefy as the original. but i personally don't like the way they bracketed the dampener to the tie rod. Its doing the trick so far tho.
