2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tie rods

I am about to replace my tie rods on my truck this weekend. Do I need any special tools?

Picklefork maybe, but not necessary. Other than that, nope.

I replaced the short side on mine last week. Hardest part was breaking the adjusting sleeve loose. A little soaking with PB-Blaster, and a pipe wrench with a cheater bar convinced it to loosen up.

One of my buddies said I will need some special long socket for the inner tie rod?

i didnt need a special socket all i needed was a pickle fork to get the tierod broke loose from the ball stud.
