2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tilt frontend, ever see one?

My brother had a 78 chevy truck & It had the tilt frontend on it. [front clip tilts forward like a big rig] I was thinking of possibly doing this to my truck so that it would be easy to work on the engine. I would have to figure out some things & It would take alot of time, but I'm considering it. Ever see a Dodge with the tilt front end?

I just made an aluminum hood for mine and it opens via a linear actuator to the front.

Approx the middle half tilts forward, and I can remove the entire hood in a few minutes.

Several years ago maybe twenty I saw a Dodge crewcab (old military) that had a tilt forward full frontend. The owner said that was how it was when he bought it. There are a lot of custom pickups & cars like that so it shouldn't be real difficult to do, with a lot of trial & error. HWestfall

I've got almost 300k on my truck. I haven't had the need to work on mine enough to remotely think about a tilt front end.



What are you guys doing to them to need that kind of space?

I don't work on it very often, but I think it would be cool to sit on the tire & change injectors, headgasket etc. :-laf

I will have some photos in a couple of weeks when I get the truck back together. I am installing new fuel, air compressor and custom aluminum bed, and truck is not mobile at the moment!!
