pops, smoke, misc. noise.....

The obscene levels of fueling the 'big dogs' run is the biggest culprit... ... Add to that - 14:1 compression, insane timing..... you start to see why they smoke at idle.

Could this be called.."Muncie Carnage" instead..

Well after getting to see most of the video a week or so ago here while Sleddy stopped by for the night I have a few impressions of it after having him narrate it for me while it was running... .



1st-Can we say carnage???. Man there were alot of very serious folks attempting to dethrone "Muncie's Sled Pulling King". You should have seen the smile while Gene was showing me the winning pull and singing the tune "Eat My Dust".



2nd-Even with the audio problem it was very nicely put together. Hey Eric,,Ya got to fix that one so Sleddy doesn't have to do all ther explaining the highs and lows,,LOL.



3rd-Drags were different and the rumble of mother nature in the background is neat. Wish they did not get rained out so it could have been finished and all on the tape. How did that guys get into that WAY TO HIGH Ford let alone race it without leaving driveline parts on the starting line?.



4th-I can see why Jeff24Gordn is on his,sorry lost count here,next clutch assembly.



5th-Where is all that advertised Ford power(500+) from ''Thunder's" truck at?? and shouldn't Powersnorter's truck win the worlds most ugliest truck award???.



6th and final-Has anyone figured out how to stop HolshotHolset's rabbit hops during his rookie pull???. And who was that masked man as his co-driver??.



Overall what I seen with Sleddy was very impressive and I'll have to order mine to watch it by myself. Who knows maybe if someone will figure out how to dethrone Gene next year by watching it ... . Andy

No need Eric, thanks anyway. It came in. The crew did nice work taping the pulls. They even got in a quick shot of my old truck in the show area.

The video still doesnt do me justice. They sould have a camera where i do my 3-4 shift.

As far as my noral driving style, I do that merging onto the interstate with 15k trailer behind me. What did gene say about me? Or can you even post it on these fourms.

The masked man was none other than J. R. Adkins - Gene backed out..... he was skeeered of the awesome bunny hops my truck can do... .



The bunny hops are explained in the latest edition of the TDR - Joe Donnelly wrote-up a good article.



It's a combination of my 160hp pump, HUGE delivery valves and the 370's... ... and throw in the lack of a cam plate/AFC rack stop while you're at it. With it setup like this - it goes like a sonofagun on the street - but load it down and it hops like a bunny in heat.

My video was waiting for me when I got home from the gunshop this evening. Popped it in the VCR as soon as I was done eating dinner and just finished watching it. Great video. Even my rookie pull with my ugly deer killer made the cut. Man was that a slow pull. Would have been nice to see what it would have done without the fuel rate pin froze up. Great job of mixing by the production crew. School starts Tuesday and I've already had two of my returning students call to ask if I had got the video yet, want to know when I plan on showing it in class. I would think it should be autoshop related. Got to teach these kids right, especially the two that drive flowerpokes. They need converting bad. Thanks again for going the extra mile to put out the video Eric.
