And the cheap ones ain't gonna cut it! You will need a very high-tech pair of sunglasses... and all of this time I thought you went blind by... oops, wrong forum!

I was outside last night ,tonight and probably every night this week cleaning and waxing. Been to hot so Ive head to wait till evening plus either the truck has gotten larger or Im getting older. Takes longer and longer to detail.

Friday or too bad

I have all day Friday dedicated to the task of getting ready. If that is not enough time, then too bad, you guys will get to see a dirty truck. After all it is a work truck, hehehe.

Well, as my father has told me before... things are never so bad they can't get worse... how right he is! After months of hard work (in my spare time) spent tricking out an extra set of Air Bulldog induction components for my Ram, Line-X really put the screws to me. My high dollar custom job was returned to me in the most pitiful condition imaginable. At first I was really upset at the extremely poor workmanship, now, just extremely depressed. With the amount of work required (by me) to repair the fiberglass air box base so it can be used as designed/intended, it will take seemingly forever to get it back to a point where I can bring it back to be "fixed" by Line-X (i. e. , resprayed with Line-X and re-top coated with bright yellow paint).

With that, I'm throwing in the towel and raising the white flag. That's it... I give up. I'm not going to waste anymore of my time screwing around with my Ram in preparation for the Timberline Dodge Show-N-Shine. I've spent every spare moment working on my Ram for weeks getting everything to my satisfaction (upgrades, enhancements, detailing etc. , even the chrome plating on many of the parts I extensively tricked out beforehand turned out absolutely flawless) however, I've gotten to the point where my heart is no longer in it.

With that, I wish all the other entrants the very best!

Thank you Rob for all the help and support you have given me! You are truly the best!

John... I don't know if you are still going or not, but if it was up to me, you would!

You still have about the nicest Ram I've seen, and do all of the work yourself, even BOMBing custom parts like the Mike Brolin CB mount. Comes perfect. You make it better!

I vote that you get down there and enter the contest.

PS: Thanks for the compliments, but that is what a friend is for. I know many that would do the same.

John take a day to cool down then get your A$$ to Oregon!Everyone of us have spent too much on our trucks and I guarantee everyone of us have found flaws on our trucks whether they were caused by incompetents or otherwise. Just today I was waxing the roof and I was trying to figure out how the heck I got rockchips way up there. Both rockers along with the hood and bedsides are rockchipped. This after only 1 year. This isnt as bad as your circumstance but its still a delemma in my eyes. I do feel your pain. Come down, have a BBQ,BS a little and show off your truck!

John,

Please reconsider your decision to come to the Timberline show... You are going to be missed by MANY of the OR & WA members, and espcially by us, the NW BOMBers. Your truck is truly the crown jewel of all of ours, and what makes it special is that YOU have done most of the work. Countless hours of work by you, making your truck the beautiful rig that it is. Don't let someone else's (Line-X) fault ruin all your hard work...

John, I know you well enough to KNOW that YOU do not just "throw in the towel. " Giving up just... well... it's not your style...

So please John, reconsider your decision... You have done too much hard work to just push it aside...

Aw, come on, John. My dad (a fellow TDR member) is here, visiting from California, and he's going to the show with me. I wanted to introduce him to you and Rob and all the others. Rob's out, and now I won't be able to show off your hood to my dad (I have one on order). :(

How NOT to detail your truck!

Well, I finally washed the truck today, for the first time since last fall! Y'all know that it's a no-no to wash a truck in direct sunlight, unless you like the look of dried soap scum and water spots. Well, today looked cloudy enough to make for a good wash day (I have no carport or other source of shade). So, I get to washing the truck, and just at the point where I'm about to start drying, it starts raining lightly AND the sun comes out (nice and hot) at the same time! How's that for optimal wash conditions?

I don't expect my truck to win any awards (it won the "best engine" award last year), it doesn't get the pampering that it used to, but I'm going to enter it in the show anyway, just for the fun of it. For those I haven't met, I'll be the guy with the two-tone (blue w/driftwood centerband) 4X4 with a matching camper shell and a custom rear bumper with a spare tire rack. Be sure to come over and say hi. :)

John,

Were coming up from canada to see you guys, you will still have a good lookin truck no matter what happened. We were looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the guys. You should reconsider.

Is there an award for the most abused truck? I think I'm in the running for that award. :D
