On a different thread someone suggested Timbrens. I'm not crazy about airbags and the associated plumbing, but need a little help lifting the rear of my truck. Anyone have any pros or cons on them?

I have Timbrens on mine and like them. They don't make contact unless under load and they work great. Pretty well maintenance free and great customer service.

Friend of mine has them on his 02 Durmax and likes them. If I ever get my 05 I will probably try them if the rear of a 3500 needs help.

Timbrons

One of my air bags got a hole in it and my son gave me a pair of Timbrons to use until I could get the air bag repaired. To make it short - I never got the air bag replaced. I like the Timbrons better and they handle my 15,000lb 5th wheel just fine - no air pressure to check and nothing to go wrong.

I must say that the first time i hooked up my 5th wheel i was quite dissapointed at how much my truck squatted. The pin weight is only around 2k but she was squatted like a f250. The sad part was that it had just begun two touch the overloads on one end. I ordered the timbrens and installed in 10 minutes. They made a big difference in the truck stance when loaded and the truck handled much better at highway speeds.

I installed air bags on my 94' about 9 years ago 5th wheel would balance up and down when going over dips in road. Then I installed trimbrens in the air bags brackets. This has worked a lot better. Make sure you have about 1. 5" clearance when truck is empty. I have went to AZ 9 time since intalling which 5000 miles round trip

I have a little longer story on the timbrens. I run empty about 45K each year and pull a load near the max GVWR another 15K. I got a set of tibrens and a set of Rancho 9000s at the same time. The Timbrens were about 3/4 of an inch from contacting the back axle. The 3Gen timbrens are so stiff that the became my shocks on the down stroke and even at 9900 GVW the overloads would not contact. In a sense they were my entire rear suspension. I called The manf. after looking at their web site and picked a much softer "spring". If you are going to be way overloaded on the rear go on and get the recommend set-up. If you will have hitch weights of 2K or less try to get a softer spring.

All in all, I like them and would recommend Timbrens.
