Has anyone had any experience with Timbren hollow rubber springs? I just heard about them and wonder if they are worth installing. They list cheaper than Airlifts. I usually run nearly empty or with a 5th wheel that puts a 2000 lb load on the hitch.

There was a long thread about Timbrens just last week. Go back through and you should be able to find it. I think the title was something about snow plowing. They sound like the hot lick. They will be on my truck before next plowing season.

Good input except I am not using a plow. What do they do for the rear of the truck?

Can anyone tell me how much(if any) do these rise the front end up? Have airlift bags on back and this could be ideal to make it ride level again when empty.

Without a load they don't even touch. They're specifically to support an extra load -- so if raising the front is what you're after then something else is needed.

As for the rear timbrens; I had them and didn't like them (I like them in front for plowing). But it could depend on your clearance. I had rear Timbrens on a different truck then I do now and they were just short of touching unloaded -- which resulted in them coming in contact every time I hit a bump -- which of-course caused a serious boinging effect (technical term). Scope it out and if there's enough clearance that they won't come into contact unloaded but will support the load when it's on, then they'll work well.

Sorry, I didn't catch that you needed help on the rear end... . I personally would sugest the Firestone Ride Rite air springs. I had a set on my Chevy and when I set my 4000 lb. Lance camper on I would inflate the springs to 100 psi. and it would lift the truck back up to empty ride height. No more coon hunting with the headlights!

Thanks for the input. Priced them from $120 to $300 so I saved a loy of money.

I have experienced the same"boinging" that Mark describes when the truck is empty. When loaded the Timbrens sit on the axle. The only draw back is that the ride is harsher-I think that the Timbren springs do not have as much flex as real springs. If I was to do it over, I would add extra leaves instead.
