How about something a little different. :)

My Bumper

It's a Road Armor bumper with a few of my own custom touches done to it. I've been very happy with them, the finish is awesome and I get alot of complements every where I go on them.

There are more pics of both the bumpers in my albums.

I love my Denver Off Road -

#ad

but there are a bunch of other great options.

I hit a dear over the fourth. It doesn't even look that bad, but three estimates put the price tag between 1300-1800. I am definately in the market for a deer smasher. If you hit one deer I figure you break even, hit a second deer and its kind of like making money.

oltraildog brought up TNT here in billings, that bumper is what I'm getting. 140 lbs, but no winch mount though.

I vetoed the front winch mount for the same weight considerations. I mount my old Warn winch (the syle with the motor above the spool) on the back receiver when fire wooding. I was waiting for Buckstop to develop the winchless gen 3 model when I came across the Herds in Billings. Also got another Herd website: http://herdbullbars.com. Kinda like the looks of the aliarc grill guard and lower rake and price ($925), but I think they are too light duty.

I really would like to mount midship and run out through the front/back or up through the flatbed. Had a friend who had this setup in an old Studebaker work truck (his baby).

I was in Casper this weekend adopting another rescue border collie and caught a glimpse of a blue gen 2 with the winch feeding out the back bumper fairlead. Also had an aftermarket front bumper.

Deer Resistant Bumpers

I just sold my first polished stainless steel John West bumper. You can p. m. me for good pictures. I still offer steel bumpers for those who don't need shiny things.

The stainless bumper is the same 3/16" thickness as my steel bumpers. It costs more but, it looks nicer too.

Front Bumper replacement

Cheap is not the way to go! After a 90 pound Mule deer at 35 MPH cost me $4000 in repairs I went to Colorado Off Road. You want Aluminum NOT steel as the Cummins front end is already maxed out due to engine weight. Mine is loaded with the valance, color matched (gloss silver) bed liner finish and is beautiful. Outstanding company to work with and everything fit perfectly. You get what you pay for and the average $700 "brush guard" will just cause more damage when you hit the next deer. We have Moose and Elk here too WY) and you should see what they can do to a truck! The best does cost more! Rootmanslim

Your right, cheap is not the way to go, But a few hundred pounds will not hurt the front end especially if you have dual shocks and heavy duty springs

When I installed my Buckstop the front end only sagged 1/4" IF THAT. There was no adverse effect from running a steel bumper.

How many of these will work with a BOSS V-plow?

Wifey had a blowout on the front over a yr ago and it knocked out the inner fenderwell plastic and the plastic loose from the front bumper. Lot bigger fix than it sounds.

So far we just have run with a bungie strap around the bumper - which holds the plastic in place fine. Thinking aboot just riviting it in place tho. ... thinking aboot it... . ;)

aussie bumper

1. it's not mede in america

2. it will corrode (The CCB is bedliner silver coated to match my truck)

3. it cost as much or more

4. no valence available to push critters under

5. no front receiver hitch available (makes boat launching a snap)

6. no very helpful tech support available on the phone seemingly anytime!

7. the HD spring shock line about steel being okay is CRAP. what part of ball joint loadings don't you comprehend? it is always the weakest link you need to worry about!

Whats that Aussie bumper off of? A Toyota???? It looks like cheap flimsy bumer. No winch option, reciever, or light buckets. It doesn't look right.

The Ute and Herd bumpers are also made in Australia. The Aliarcs are made in Canada. Not many 3 Gen aluminum bumpers made in US. The ones that are expensive.

Not everybody wants a winch mounted on the front. Not everyone wants extra lights, or they can mount their own if desired.

I have a Thunderstruck front end replacement and have hit several deer going 75+++mph. Not a dent at all. I even got it for $750. Check them out here . I Love it! Oo.

I also have the Denver Off Road. I installed it entire by myself. I have lots of installation pictures in my Readers Rigs section, check them out.
