Given the old history, the expense being second only to rebuilding a Cummins engine, confusion of the term "Gen-New" being rebuilds, molested new injectors for performance, past shortages of Virgin New HPCR injectors, etc. it's time for an up to date buyer's guide for HPCR injectors. The number one question being how do I obtain and verify I did get "Virgin New" injectors that don't contain a single "used" part? I am told it's easier to get "Virgin New" nowadays, however, when researching injectors "the past problems" muddy the water very badly. The article should also touch on performance injectors. Yes the performance injectors are going to be used on the street. Yes "Black Smoke Matters" because in modern times it shouldn't smoke. So what does it take to get performance injectors through snap testing emissions should be answered. (There are several choices to do this. For example there are results posted of BBi's passing Snap Emissions testing.) Again the article should explain what a new injector is, what a molested new injector is, and all the terms that a "rebuilt" injector can have. I hope the past is in the past, but, it's haunting buyer's replacement injector research today.

Question number one: The difference of new, performance, or reman.
Question number two: cost including labor to swap them if you hire it out. There is the absolute best and then "what I can afford."
Question number three: warranty and "if" labor to swap them out etc is covered - some have longer parts warranties than labor warranties.
Question number four: What's improved over the years in the injector design/production and how do I get longer injector life?
Question number five: from four really... Info on SAC and VCO? Even a combo of the two... And why VCO with it's design disadvantages. (Yeah for emissions)
