I have zero slippage that I can tell from my 47RE with 82K miles.

I did notice twice in the past week, I got this strange feeling, almost like axle hop, at least it felt like that from the driver's seat.

It happened once on a freeway entrance ramp, and then again on a steep hill, when I got on it a bit. Both times the trans was in 3rd gear. As soon as I lifted, it went away.

Maybe I'm just looking for an excuse? :-laf

Sounds like TC chatter, the TC wouldn't be locking in third though unless you had the OD punched out. bg

Pretty sure I had the OD turned off at both times. I normally have it off when I am under 50 mph or so.

When was the last time that you serviced the trans? Had exact problem, serviced the trans and put in a valve body kit, that was 30k ago... ... I pull between 4 and 5 ton a couple times a month and have had no problems (knock on wood)

It's only been about 5000 miles since I changed the fluid, and maybe 10,000 since it's last service. I'll have it done this week at work.

At about what speed was this happening? Were you pulling a trailer? Was it kind of a bucking feeling like when driving a stick in too high of a gear?

No trailer, at about 50-55 on the on ramp, and about 35-40 going up the hill.

I felt almost like the bucking you would get, only gentler.
