Here I am

time for new injectors?

Thanks, TDR Staff

Custom fleet guard coolant filter, heater core hardline delete.

Core (Hurst) short shifter NV56

Mine went out fairly easy by hand, 2 or so needed a little help with a screw driver. No more.

The worst part was to disassemble the crash protector around the injection line #6.

Put 400$ on top of your offer and get BBi Injectors. If you can. Worth every Dime.

You don't need the injector puller 99% of the time, a small pry bar or screw driver will usually suffice.

Pulling the rail lines and the VC riser will make it simpler to get cross over tubes out and done correctly. Pulling the rail lines allows you to check them to make sure you don't have issue developing. Don't have to remove the crash protector, just the lifting bracket.

There's the rear engine lifting lug, which obviously has to come out, but what's that other piece attached to the vertical surface on the rear of the head. Does it have to come out to swap out the connector tube? It looks to be a very close interference.

No you don't have to remove it, you can work around the crash protector with the right socket and extension.

The crash protector is there in case the engine and firewall get to shake hands? Seems a cracked fuel line would be the least of your worries if that happened.

In a hard crash the engine can get shoved THRU the firewall and spray the occupants with diesel. Instant firestorm and that will almost always be deadly. That is its only function, safety from fuel spray in a crash.

Yes, the extractor does fit, based on my experience with #6 on my 2005.
The safety bracket around the fuel line slowed me down, but I got it off and reinstalled it when done. Finding the right combination of wrench and position was the trick for me.

Doing the injectors here. The drawing in the manual shows a spring that appears to be held captive under the valve cover? I didn't see a spring.

The drawing calls it a "ground spring," but there are no steps in the instructions to assure that it is in place, etc.

I actually just ordered a Fluiddmpr for my 03. P/N: 920301. From what I read in my research before buying it they updated the design to include a beveled edge for easier belt replacement in response to previous reviews about the design flaw. I'll include pictures. I've not installed this yet, just got it this week actually.

Thanks! I had heard they had addressed the belt install issue but I'm more concerned with the clicking or chirping sound that some have experienced. I was not able to find anything that they had resolved that issue. The other option is the 6.7 HO Dampr upgrade although not as good as a properly functioning Fluidampr from what I have read.

First im hearing of a chirp issue, are you referring to the one second gens get on power down? I previously replaced my belt train when I first got this truck with a gates kit: tensioner, pulley and a green HD belt.

If not this could you elaborate more?

Yeah I agree bullet points 2 and 3 appear to be high performance (+700 hp and 3500 rpm) and the Cummins High Strength Bolt Kit (up to 700 hp and 3500 rpm) is pricy. Thanks for the ARP PN. Did the Fluidampr come with the friction washer?
