I'm nearing 60k miles and my tires look like they'll last until the end of summer if I push it. I'll definitely be buying new tires before hunting season.

Since I've had such good luck in longevity and road noise with the stock tires (Michelin LTX A/S, 265/70R/17 load range E) I'm thinking about buying the same tires again. A friend told me to check out Yokohama H/T-S tires. They have one that is in the load range E but the online reviews for the tire isn't nearly as good as the D range.

I don't mind paying more for a tire if I'm going to get the same longevity out of them. I drive mostly on paved roads going back and forth to hunting areas towing a 4k TT at about 80 MPH. I do drive off road in some areas and 4wd has been a necessity with the LTX's, which I don't mind.

I'd like to stay near the stock tire with the same capability. Does anyone have any experience with the Yokohama tires? Are they comparable tires to the Michelins? Is there a better tire out there with more longevity and capacity?

Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO. That's going to be my choice when the stock tires wear out on the '05 whenever it gets here.

Check them out. http://www.bridgestonetire.com/

Me too, as soon as Bridgestone comes out with the LT285/70R17 in a "D" range..... I had them on my '00 Dodge RAM 2500 Quad Cab in LT285/75R16 and I loved them; unfortunately they were on my truck for only about 8,000 miles before I bought my '03. I'm anxiously waiting for my Bridgestone Rep to tell me when they're going to crank them out... ... . especially since I'll be getting a free set !

Parshal, what air pressure do you keep your tires at when riding empty on paved roads? I would like to come close to the success you have with the the stock tires. tks.

I only got 33k out of the stock Michelins. Roads here in western NC are anything but straight, and I carry a 1300# load in the bed so maybe that's some of the difference. I certainly wasn't impressed with the Michelins as I got no better endurance out of them than much cheaper tires on my previous truck (a Duramax--GM had the common sense to use the 16" rims, giving me a resonable choice of tires). Hey, Parshal, I live here in Parker too. I have about 22,000 on my Michelins on my 04 in about 6 months. I think I will run them through the winter and look hard before the fall hunting season next year. Anxious to see what you do. The Mich's seem like good highway tires but on the ice and snow they are a little marginal. I had Revos on my last Chev and they were awesome going down the highway and up chasing elk around. I am going to make sure I have my chains in good shape when we hunt the late season this year. PM me sometime and we'll have a cup of coffee at Village Inn! A fried of mine has a 97CTD in Montana and has the Yokohama Geolanders in 16's and really likes them but I will have to try and find the Yokos you are talking about.

Edit: Just went to TireRack and I do not see the Yokohamas in our 17" size in any load range that will work for us. All I come up with are Toyos, Michs, BFG ATs in a D rating. It is kinda tough on selection. Let us know what you do. Later, Rog

RTillery, TireRack.com has the Yokohama's and says to use the G051's which only come in D range. The G053 comes in E but the reviews aren't that good.

You're right, the Michelins are marginal in the snow without 4wd. They aren't that great off road either but I've not found a good tire for our Colorado oily clay. My three previous trucks had BFG AT's and I still slid around on the dirt roads just as bad as with these Michelins.

What color is your truck? I may have seen you around. I'm driving an atlantic blue one with black wheel to wheel bars and I always have a silver dog box in the back near the tailgate. I live in Stonegate north.

Stephen, I run around at 62 lbs. or so all around and even keep them there when I'm towing, too. I tow a 4k TT at 80 mph on the Interstate with them at 62.

JShutz, most of our roads here are pretty straight but are far from smooth. My truck's an everyday driver and gets on the back roads quite a bit. I always have an 80 lbs dog box, 8 gallons of water and 200 lbs. of "stuff" in the back seats. Most days I've got 120 lbs. of dogs in the back, too.

Mberry, I don't see the right size for the Bridgestone's on their website. The closest I see is P265/70R17 but I don't see an LT in 17" with a load range E.

I assume a D range tire would not have anywhere near this mileage as I assume it would wear quicker. Correct?

Bridgestone/Firestone

U listening???? I, for one, am waiting for that revo to come out for our trucks. Anybody heard lately regarding revo's for our trucks???

Threw out a set of Yokohama Geolanders because of hydroplaning and HORRIBLE performance on packed snow. Happy to see them go after only 17K miles. JUNK!!!

Wstoops,

Thanks for the info. Have a vehicle with those tires on it. They will be replaced before winter!

I am patiently waiting for the Revo's too. I have had good luck with the LTX M/S's but want a little more off road capability in the new tires.
