Time to BOMB the Gasser

Wife says its her turn. '99 4x4 swb A/T 5. 9l V-8. Anybody have any experience with mild BOMBing on a gasser? I emphasize MILD, You can only take the kids to school so fast!

Performance chip (lots our there, search the web), K&N, headers and a real dual exhaust. Thats should get you started. Maybe you could have DTT work you up a VB and TC.

Ok... Well, if that's a 360, it'll benefit from MP smog-legal headers, an HO computer, K&N air filter, and free-flowing exhaust. That'll make it sound better, too. Let's see... there IS a computer-compatible camshaft and bigger intake, and I don't recall for sure, but I think you can get a larger throttle body too.

And, of course, I'd change the torque convertor, to one that's more efficient.

From checking the DodgeRTClub forum, none of the chips are as good as the Mopar ECM. I haven't personally tried any, but there were rough idle problems with some chips (Jet?). FYI, my 360 started burning oil at 16,000 miles. It also had a detonation problem. Premium wouldn't even eliminate it. Took it to the dealer and they said the intake plenum was leaking. No more knocking even on cheep gas. We'll see about the oil use.

I don't have any experience with any of the newer chips (last 4 years). The one that seemed to work the best back when I was still working in the auto industry was Hyper Tech.
