Ok,

Just got my DiProcol Optix Boost and EGT Gauges from Diesel Performance Parts. I am replacing a previous set of gauges, so the manifold is already drilled and tapped along with the intake.

I have the harness kits for the gauges, but my question is as follows. Which wire behind the light switch is the one that is "Hot" only when the lights are on? On my current gauges, they are tapped into the dimmer wire and I will not be using this connection on the optix gauges because the DiProcol harnesses have individual dimmers for each gauge.

So, what wire is correct to tap into? I think the dimmer wire is the orange with the white tracer. But I need the + non-dimmer wire.

I will be getting into the project soon, so thanks in advance for suggestions and answers. This TDR is addictive.

By the way, The Diesel Performance Parts gang is great to work with. Their customer service is top notch.

It is still good to use the light wire, then you can fine tune the lighting level of the optics to match the factory lighting level. .

I'm in the same boat as you, except I'm also including rail pressure and tran temp gauge. The instructions I got from Geno's specifically say to not tap the dimmer wire as I had previously because of current draw. I was kind of wondering which wire is the running lights as well.

I do not have the separate dimmers on each Optix gauge. But I am running three Optix gauges (egt, boost, and fuel preasure) off the dimmer wire with no problems and they are pretty close to the dash lights.
