Shortly after, one of my first mods was a 1962 Mercury vacuum brake booster, cuz I almost ran over a big ol' Cadilac running 95 mph down them Montana no speed limit freeways. The motor lasted a hole' 50,000 miles, Jeeze what junk, however I still have it, only now it has a 427 side oiler![]()

In 1970 I ordered a 1971 Ford F-250, 2WD, 390 engine, 4 speed, Sport Custom, Camper Special Package. I immediately installed a set of Hooker Headers with two long glass pack mufflers and a 650 cfm Holly carb. Great power. At 104K I had the engine rebuilt. At 121K I had the engine replaced. I replaced everything under the hood 1 to 4 times. Sorriest truck and engine ever made. These new Dodge trucks are a 100% improvement over the old trucks of yes-ter-year. To say nothing of the power, the comfort and the economy.
