My truck came from the factory with 245/16's and I immediately went to 33/16. 5's tires. I love the look but my truck is a slug from a start, with the auto trans my power starts to kick in when I am doing 60mph (and I have the tickets to prove it).

So question is where can I find info on going to 4. 56, I have a 2500 with the Dana 70 and I currently have a 4. 10.

Thanks in advance, Derek

at 75pmh =1900rpm and I would like to be back to a stock situation, or 75=2200rpm.

Forget the gears

Skyjacked Ram, before you go through all that gear swapping to get better throttle response below 60mph, try an Edge EZ box.

I think you will be very pleasantly surprised with the change in your truck.

The Ez box changes fuel timing and and has two different fueling settings. It really adds to the low and mid range, at least on my truck it was a huge improvement.

Most retailers and Edge themselves offer a 30 day money back satifaction guarantee [from what I've heard] so if it doesn't do enough for you, then send it back.

The nice thing about the edge EZ is that it plugs into existing factory connections, and can be removed without leaving any tattle tale indications that it was there.

Maybe there is a TDR member near you who is willing to offer you a 'test run' with their EZ box, just to find out if it does the trick.

I've had excellent service and advice from ADT Doug and Andy are great guys! Find them at www.smokindiesel.com

Good luck, Greg L

IMO

Just my 2 cents! I ran 285/75/16 Cooper STT's on my 4x4 with 3. 54's and it had plenty of power!!!!!! Your tires are almost an inch shorter than mine were and you have 4. 10's? Something else is wrong! You should be able to run 35's or 36's with 4. 10 and still have reasonable power down low! Look at the engine performace and don't waste your money on gears! Just my opinion!

I have 3:55 gears and 315/75R16 with a PE Comp and would never go any lower with the gearing. I goes great and if the gears were lower I would run out of gear to quick. Get a box and gauges. It will be alot cheaper and you will fly:eek:

I have 4. 10s, 315/75R16s & a VA CPC - I do run out of gears. At 2000 rpm I'm running 65 mph & 18mpg. I'm thinking about adding an auxilliary OD for the everyday driving. Towing our 5th wheel this combo with the 6spd is awesome.

Brian, I'm running about 1800 to 1900 rpm's at about 70mph:D My speedo is still off since I put the tires on. My best mpg was 19, driving like a baby.

I agree with the others. You need more power, not lower gears. 4. 10's and 33" tires are an excellent combo on a 24v. JMHO

I have 4:10's and 35" tires, I think we calculated my ratio to around 3:73 area. I have DDII's injector and comp box and my truck goes like a scalded dog:D :D . you may concider something like my set up;)

Also you might consider a radar detector

In August we drove from Santa Rosa, CA to Vancouver, WA via I-5 - I did my best to hold 2000rpm the entire trip (cruise control) to check mpg vs rpm. Thought the wife was going to kill me for going 65-66mph the entire way:D

I had the radar/ laser detector on and still got the ticket. 59 in a 40. the cop was pretty cool about it. If they can be cool about it? He was pretty interested in my tires and wheels and said they looked pretty cool.
