Hello All. . Well my 4 yr finance on my '02 is about up and I have a balloon payment left.

Trying to decide if I trade in the '02 2500 for an '06 3500. I love the '02 have had no issues with it - the only issue is that about 6 months after I got the '02 I got into a large accident with it - (bent frame etc) insurance fixed it and it has been good since. The only issue is I had the windhshield replaced and now ever since they cannot seem to get it to seal properly. I have water running down behind the drivers dash and dripping out onto my feet. I am concerned that maybe the truck is not 100% straight and since they took out the original windshield they might not get a new one to ever fit perfectly again. .

So do I take the hit with all the mods on mine and get rid of it before things could go wrong (not sure what impact water behind the dash may cause)? Or try to get the windshiled re-sealed again. and keep it?

Thanks All

I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but it sounds like things have already gone wrong. If they can't get a windshield to seal up, what else is wrong that you can't see? Obviously the choice is yours, but considering what is going on now and it's potential out of pocket expenses that may/will be coming, the "hit" you take on trading might be money in the bank down the road and I would trade. Keep the wheels and whatever else you want off of it and sell them separately if you want to. This is only my opinion but it's what I would do.

Trade! If you can swing it financially, the 3rd Gens are night and day better than the second Gens in major ways as far as brakes, steering, ride and transmissions... The only thing about a 3rd gen is don't expect to see the same mileage that you get in your 2nd gen due to the fact that the '06 comes with 100 MORE horsepower stock than your 2nd gen. .

Let us know what you decide.

Ya I'm leaning towards trading it too- going to go do some "shopping" this weekend... Truck goes in Monday for thw windshield they are going to pull the old one and put in a new one.

Now the problem becomes so many choices on the '06 - LOL - looking at the '06 3500 Quad Cab Laramie 4x4 SB with the 'H' package - and then either going with the dealer installed 4" superlift or back to a Kore Recon or Chase.

Just to confirm the bolt pattern is the same between the 2nd and 3rd gen rims right?? My Walker Evans are the 17" so they should fit a 3rd gen correct??

I'll let everyone know what happens - Thanks All

I would trade sounds like you may have a not so straight cab... . the 06 is above and beyond the 02 even though I still love my 01 the 05 is a much better truck overall and the 06's are yet that much nicer. as far as the wheels the 05's fit on my 01 so the bolt pattern is the same but i think the offset is slightly different... .
