Mine lets me spend money however I see fit on whatever I want. Just dont ask her to borrow any money after I buy a turbo/ injectors I didnt really "need" at the time. Much less a whole W350 needing a transmission and diff rebuild. :-laf
My W250 had been adjusted by a local shop with the 1/8" method. I used the valve drop method to find TDC, and left the timing pin alone. I found the timing at . 080" (2. 03mm). I backed it down to . 057" (~1. 45mm- the best place for MPG with this setup, in my experience). Runs much smoother and quieter now (not that it was real loud before, with a stock exhaust and muffler). Bottom end is improved, even with the laggy turbo/ torque convertor combo. Hope to get better MPGs. Adjusted valves at the same time, and they were far enough out to suck away 1-2MPG. Add another 1-2MPG for shoddy timing set, and it may get the 20-23 the previous owner claimed.
