Attention: TDR Forum Junkies To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.
The front main is out on my truck, I am planing to replace it and fixin the kdp some time next week, dose the timing cover have to be removed to advanced the timing or can i wait tell later when i get my injectors.
It can wait. You remove the oil filler tube to access the pump shaft/nut. The top part threads out of the bottom and the bottom threads out of the gear cover.
It's a little easier with the timing cover off, and there's no reason to wait for injectors to advance it since there's benefits no matter what injector you run. Shoot for 15. 75 degrees plus/minus . 25*
I've got a 100 plate, 4000 gsk, and 60# springs ready and waiting. Will that be enough advance? I'm kind of on a budget so i plan on using 370's. I'm just trying to plan ahead.
Procedures and photographs are in TDR issue 61, p. 102-105. The nut and washer are easily removed from the pump shaft with just the oil filler unscrewed from the cover.
