All 12 valves with P7100 pump are preset in two ways: the Morse tapered pump shaft is held in the tapered-hole of the gear with a nut on the shaft. No keyway is used so timing can be varied infinitely by turning them relative to each other before installing the gear. See the Dodge service manual for procedures. Second way: the injection pump has a blade and pin setup on the side near the governor spring access hole. When the blade is engaged, the pump will be at its "preset" timing figure, the stock figure. If the pump is at that spot and the engine/pump gear is at TDC, you will get the stock timing upon assembly.
