Is there a difference in the front timing cover sheet metal from a gen 1 engine 89 to 93 and the Gen 2 engines
94 to 98 ? Im looking for some front cover sheet metal not the gear cases .
So i can get at least 1 of each so i can ship them to Mysteryman so he can enlarge the seal opening to accept a much better seal that is cheaper that you can install wet . Does any have any or know this answer ?

yup! there`s a big difference. the early VE pumped case and cover is different than the `94 up p7100 case and cover . every different injection pump has its own timing case and cover. NONE interchange.

Ive been watching them ill probally go that way . Then ill get them shipped to Mysteryman to open the seal houseing up
so i can use a much cheaper wet seal that works better . Why cummins dont scrap these trouble some seals is beyond me .
They have the New billet ones for $ 300.oo plus and they use the same stupid seal only good thing is you can un bolt the seal houseing .

My wish is to have a seal hoseing that works like most of the engines that goes in from the back that has the sheet metal
lip so it has a stopper on it and wont cock to the side the these seals do or rip and tear upon installation.
