Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Timing Gear Housing

I generally stay ing the 1st gen forum but I need some help from the 2nd gen forum. A friend of mine has a 97 and the KDP got his timing gear housing. Does anyone know where I could look for a used one? Maybe a junk yard that specializes in diesel. Any help is appreciated.

I don't think it's likely that you'll find a used timing gear housing because a used motor will most likely be sold as an entire unit and not parted out. There's a guy on Ebay that does part out engines and I have seen them there before. Otherwise you'll have to go though Cummins and get the updated version $$$.

There are two types so getting a used one may not be a good idea. The new type has a stepped hole for the KDP so it can't get out.
