Timing? How to, check & set

Iam still having the knocking issues and just about to ? Blank, dont know what to do next? but for some reason I think it may have jumped time on me. And what makes me think this is I never in the past had the smoke that is coming out of the vent ( pcv ) like I have now?#@$%!#@$%!:{:{

You can't set the timing. It is controlled by the ECM. If you have a knock and blow by, chances are you melted a piston and scored a cylinder.

I agree with sag2. The knock could be from a bad piston in the bore or it is detonating the residual oil in that cylinder. A leak down test would be in order.

you have a washed down cylinder, how much idle time do you have on your truck? Miles?
