In the process of KDP fix. Also wandted to adjust the valve lash. Since this pin is corroded and not moveable and I have the front cover off for KDP fix. Are the marks on the crank and camshaft gears when aligned represent TDC for cyl one. The shop manual does not state so. 1994 2500 , 12v, inline injecction pump. If these are the marks I need verification from someone.

check to see if both valves on #1 are loose. when the key for the crank gear is straight up and both valves are loose on #1 you are ready to start setting the valves. the o-ring on the pin sticks

The "drop valve" method of finding TDC is what use for timing. No need to be that precise for valve lash adjustment. The DV method is in the Factory Service Manual.

Thank you all. Most helpful. I will use an alternate method. Good to know there is more than one way "to skin a cat". Ever wonder where that statement originated. Thanks All.

yes, the marks line up right against each other. Usually there is paint on them from the factory. Your pin may be stuck by the o ring around it but it is plastic and can't corrode.
