Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) timing vs injectors

i have heard alot about injectors being easier on your vp than the timing boxes. my only argument is how can this be when the pump is pumping enough fuel to make a certain amount of hp. asy you have a 60hp injector the pump is going to have to pump the same amount of fuel with the injector as it would ahve to with a 60hp box right? it looks to me like hp is horsepower being timong or injectors it is still pumping the same fuel isnt it? not trying to stirr up any feathers just wondering if someone could clear it up. maybee it has to do with the advancement of the pump making it do things earlier just wondering.
