Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) -Timing

I am asking for a new Cummins owner the following:

95 auto. added #6 plate and boost elbow, local diesel "expert" checked timing and said it was at 14 degrees, and he did not recommend changing.

What should it be set to and why and what will a change to 15 or 16 do for him both plus and negative.

uping it to 15-16 will help power and milage.

on the minus side it will be a rattle louded.

Put your Timing at 15-16, I ran mine at 16 for about 8 Months or so, now I have a . 020 gasket and an O-Ring'd head so it's at 20.



You will like it, so will you truck and your converter.
