I just had my truck timmed by the local rip off joint.
I told them to set it to 15. 5. I asked the mechanic what he set it for and he said 13. Anyway, now it smokes blue at an idle.
any ideas why? It sounds like its set at about 20 deg. This morning I went out to start it and it was chilly(1 below zero) and I was expecting it to start better than it did but it cranked longer than ever before.
The mechanic used the pin method and some paper wrapped around the harmonic balancer. I know its not set right but, what if its way to far advanced, would this cause blue smoke at an idle and harder starting when its real cold?
Thanks boys
