I did a lot of research and built this TIPM saver box for 2006 and up trucks. This takes the vulnerable TIPM out of the direct LOAD circuit to the factory and non factory tow plugs.
Unit consists of heavy duty, silver contact, 60 amp relays that are VOLTAGE SPIKE suppressed, BUSS fuse panel and BUSS 15 amp thermal circuit breakers to protect each of the four circuits. NO MORE replacing or trying to reset the trucks EXPENSIVE TIPM if you encounter a short circuit on the trailer lighting.
American made wire and terminals were used and 3M heat shrink and seal butt connectors are supplied. I also supply the 10 gauge primary wire and slit loom, 40 amp circuit breaker and ring terminals in the kit. Unit is water tight.
About 90% of inquiries have had to reset or REPLACE their TIPM due to a short on a trailer plugged into the truck.
This will work on all pickups and cab and chassis. The units are also water resistant.
Three TDR members helped me to refine my TIPM saver by asking for a "Plug and Play" version, adding an extra PROTECTED lead to be able to install an additional 55 watt backup light on the truck, and increasing the length of the flat 4 pin tow light plug..... THANKS YOU GUYS!
