I notice my front tires start wearing on the outside tread band (feathering) after 4K miles and need to be rotated and balanced to undo the feathering (run the opposite direction). This only happens with the fronts. I had the alignment checked and it is OK. Does it do this because of that big heavy CTD sitting up there or is this normal? I am running Michelin LTX/MS 235/85/16's see sig for type of truck. I've run them with 60psi, 65psi and 70psi. Same results???

Thanks

Not to sound bad here, but I would say you are going too fast in the turns... Possibly try slowing down a touch.

As far as balancing, Did they use weights, or a product called Equal (or similar product)?

I prefer the Equal.

They used weights. I would love to find a shop in my area that used equal. Some times living in the Ozarks makes me feel like I am living in the 1950's. Good in some ways but bad when you want anything that is new. These people even drive 10mph under the speed limit.

I have the same problem as Pit Bull, but only on the front right tire.

Yes I drive about 70 miles a day, with about 30 miles of road loaded with turns. If I were going too fast in the turns, you could tell cause I would have dents or go over a cliff. :D

I go around the turns with both the right and left front tires (I had to say that:rolleyes: ), why feathering of right front only.

I dropped the air pressure to 40 lbs. This helped.
