Tire Chains

What kind of tire chains do you use? What are the pros and cons of them?

We have these for the 04.5.

Fairly standard tire chain that has held up to lots of plowing on gravel roads.

I have used both chain and cable types. Advantages to the cable type is lighter and easier to mount. Good for ice conditions. I have used the square chain type with cross bars for low speed apps on both truck, farm tractor and my UTV, better in deep snow and mud. Problem I have had with chain type is if a link breaks on cross chain it can cause some damage depending on where used [front or rear] think brake lines, outer sheet metal, fender liners etc. Cables if they break can cause some damage but not as significant.

Depends on your use model. For plowing I go with chain, for use on ice, higher speed the cables are easy to put on, take off and ride is good.
