How do I determined what year a Tire was made by the numbers on it?

Look on the backside of the tire casing for the word DOT. You will find a four digit code following the word DOT. If your trailer was built in say, 2006 you will probably find a number that looks something like DOT 3805. That number tells you the tire was molded in the 38th week of 2005.

And sometime it's just in a little oblong oval with just the 4 digits in it.

Or, it could be like my 2006 trailer and the tires said 1402. Damn tires were 4 years old when I got the trailer. Now I am older and wiser. And making the move to 16" rims with LT tires. Can't afford the Michelins, but will probably get Bridgestone Duravis.
