For those of us who pull trailers I think this is a MUST have item. http://www.advantagepressurepro.com/_Products/index.htm. Pressure sensors simply screw onto you valve stem in place of the cap. It sends a wireless signal to a very well designed monitor in your cab that shows the individual tire pressure and if the pressure drops more than 12% the system sounds an alarm. Cost is between $400 and $700 depending on how many tires you want to monitor. Group buy of 5 or more will get us 25% off. Those of you who are interested please email me.

Thanks

I got this system from Doran. It works best on steel valve stems. Make sure they hav a smooth end with nothing to cut the rubber in the senders.

Advantage Pressure Pro is the manufacture and Doran buys from them. I puchased directly from Advantage. Cost was the same. $390. 00 for a 4 wheel system. Did you have a problem with a sharp valve stem? How/where do you have yours hooked up? got pics???

I did have a small problem. i used a small sharpening stone to clean up the top of the valve stem. Doran also sent me new rubber inserts for the transmitter if I need them.

I use them on my 5th wheel. The main problem is making sure the trailer tires all have the same pressure.

When I am parked in Idaho for the summer 2 will go on my boat trailer.

I don't have a good mount for the receiver yet. Still trying to find a good place to stick it so tht the power cord will be out of the way.

I have been using the TireSmart sensor http://www.smartire.com/. It is not as easy to install because the sensor is place inside the tire on the rim. But, it monitors pressure and temperature. You set parameters for various alarms. I wouldn't tow without it.
It's interesting to watch tire temps. Pressure readings are very accurate and agree with my gauge.
