Went out to my truck last night to check the engine hours. Went to the Vehicle Info screen. I usually keep it on the tire pressure screen. Cycled through the screens to the engine hours and got the number. Cycled through again to get back to the Tire Pressure screen. It wasn't there. Hmmm... Waited an hour or so went back out. All the screens are there except Tire Pressure. Thinking maybe the truck needs to see the sensors to activate. Drove the truck a couple miles. Still not there. Stopped by the dealer this morning while in town to see if they've seen this. Service writer said, I'll show you how to find it. Okay. He couldn't find it. Asked if he would bring a tech out. Tech came out and said, I'll show you how to find it. Okay. He couldn't find it. Had no idea. Said schedule an appt. Not 100% sure if I want to leave my truck there to check out the electronics. Got home disconnected both batteries for about 10 minutes. That didn't help.

Any suggestions? Otherwise I guess I'll have to schedule an appt. thanks.

Have you had any recent updates / flashes done to the truck??? One guy on another forum had the exact problem when he had a remote start sales code added. Another guy's truck simply lost the TPMS / TPIS code completely.

No recent updates/flashes gsbrockman. Did have some done about 2 1/2 months ago. Can't say if I moved the selection off the tire pressure screen since then. It's as though it was there until I selected another setting, then it disappeared. I have an appointment at local dealer on Friday. I'll mention what you stated to them.

Try turning menu off. Let it sit overnight. Drive it for a day. Let it sit again over night. Turn menu (back) on.

Don't laugh until you try it. :-laf

Thanks Newsa. I've checked my owners manual don't see anything about how to shut down the Vehicle Info menu - or how to shut down any Menu on the DID instrument cluster. Can you provide any direction?

There is a "Turn off Menu" option on my 3.0 EVIC screen. Mine might be different than yours

Yeah, checked manual again and went out and checked truck. There's nothing to turn off the DID. Thanks anyway. Hopefully the dealer can find something or reinstall some electronics software. Not really a big deal. But is nice being able to check my tire pressure when I want by pressing a button.

Given the way the TPMS nags about tire pressures, I'd like to know what happened too...so maybe I could reproduce it on purpose.

Having the TPMS display my tire pressures is nice, but frankly, given the way it's implemented on the 2500's I sometimes wish I'd bought a 3500 instead.

buntster my truck as a Tire Pressure Information System (TPIS). They probably aren't the same. I'm thinking regardless, if the dealer does get it working tomorrow they likely won't know what caused the problem. These trucks are are so full of electronics it's probably not too difficult for something to go wrong somewhere.

TPIS - nice to have, TPMS - hateful thing!
Either way I think I would call it a blessing in disguise and leave well enough alone......

TPIS is good. It only provides readings. Nothing else. So I would like for it to work.

Dealer fixed it. Said there was an update to the Radio Frequency Hub (behind back seat) and once programmed the tire pressure screen reappeared. Tech didn't know why it stopped working. Says the Hub picks up all the RF devices on the truck like the tire monitors. However, all 6 personalized settings on my instrument cluster went away. I had to reprogram them. Not a big deal though.

Really, I think they're a different implementation of the same thing, but like you, I'd like to have TPIS working...it's the nagging of TMPS that leads me into snark mode :)

Glad you got it working again. Now if the aftermarket could just figure out how to swap the TPIS software from the 3500's in place of the TMPS software of the 2500's....that'd make me a happy guy.

Could not agree more with you guys. My light is on all the time because I have a few sets of wheels and tires (without sensors). I'd don't miss the monitoring because I run appropriate psi for the load--which is sometimes the 'minimum' required by the nanny, sometimes less = TPMS light anyway.

I lost my Tire pressure when they added DRL's to my sales code. they had to re add the sales code for it. Initially the code was not listed on my truck when the went to add it. They can only flash available sales codes registered for your vin, They ending up calling ram star, and they added it to my vin from there. After that the dealer was able to add the TPIS back to my truck. Only took a few miniutes.

I had added DRL's a few months ago. One of the first things I checked after the TPIS was restored was to make sure the DRL's were still working and they were thank goodness. The horn beep when locking the truck also came back on and I had to turn it off again.
