ok guys got a leveling kit for my truck and now that winter has hit its tire time and i want to go bigger like a 285/75/16 or basically a 33/12. 5/16 my question is will it rub? i know the ford guys can run a 35 on just a leveling kit but who wants a ford? anyways someone who knows from experience please chime in thanks

my friend has 285's on his stock 01 2500 4x4 and i think with the leveling kit you should be able to fit 35's

leveling kit...

I put 315/75-16s on my 1995 4x4 without the leveling kit and it rubbed the inner fenderwell. I then installed the leveling kit and it ony rubs now only during extreme off-camber full lock turns, (basically off road extreme type wheeling). Anway, The 315's or 35's will fit with a leveling kit on a 1995. I just installed my 6th set.

first of all a 285/75 is not quite a 33x12. 50 a 315/70/r16 is equivilant to a 33. is your trucka 2wd or 4wd Centeno? on my 2wd i used to have 285s then i installed daystar 1. 5 inch spacers and had to cut the fenders a little to clear the 33x12. 50 r16. 5 that i have now.

little more info

the truck is a 4x4 and i just dont wanna rub the sound bugs me had a 99 grand cherokee on 35's and it didn't rub a bit but it took 8 inches of lift to get high enough. Sounds like the consensus is that a 35 will clear on my leveling kit then? also has anyone tried the new trxus allterrain. or the nitto terragrappler i think i might go with one of these :-laf

tire sizes

315/75r16 are between 34. 5 and 34. 9 inches in diameter, not 33. 305's are the equivalent of 33's. There is always a little fudge factor involved with the manufacturer's size claims. I recomend choosing a brand and research it well. BFG's are my pick for overall life and performance. I prefer all terrains due to the noise factor, or lack there of. BFG all-terrain TKO's in 315/75R16 are 34. 6inches tall with a 10. 5 inch tread width. It also depends upon the rims you are using. 8 inch rims will affect the diameter of the tire as well. Here I recomend a 10 inch rim for 315's. They do keep the truck dirty when driving in rain, mud, snow, and other wet stuff. But the stance looks really good IMHO.

perfect

thanks strip those sre the numbers i was looking for. Gotta go with my 8" alcoas for rims though just can't bear to part with a rim that always has th bling bling ring. you know the shiny reflection that follows you down the road. as for tires i dont know why i'm thinking mud tires when it oughta be allterrains but who knows. I have used several different brands such as procomp and swamper but not on my diesel which has a bit more weight than my trail jeep so i was just wondering if anyone had some actual experience with those particular tires. I'm not really too worried about tread life these will be winter only tires so no biggy. thanks once again for the info
