Whats the biggest size you can put on the stock 16 inch rims and not risk having the back tires rubbing together under a heavy load? Any brand recomendations welcome

You must fill in your signature, so we know what year your truck is. From 2000-2002 the rims had a little more off-set than did the earlier years. I had a 97 that i went from 215s to 235s, and i was worried they would touch with the 5th on so i picked up two rims off of a 2000. What a differnce it made. I don't remember if i put them on the inside or outside.

the truck is a 98 5 speed ,stock for now . So you just added one 2000 rim to each side and it gave you more clearance? Would you have gained any more clearence buy going with 4 rims? Do the stock 97 wheel inserts still fit? Thanks Otis

Yes, i suppose adding 4 rims would have gave me more clearence, but the 2 rims was all i needed. Yes the wheel inserts still fit. Good luck.
