I need to replace the tires on my W250 4x4 and need a long lasting, safe 10 ply tire which will be economical to run on the highway with a camper and get me in and out of fishing spots with mud. I currently have Michelin XPS rib tires which are great on the highway, but will probably get me stuck in mud. Any recomendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

I used to have Michelins also, but I've changed to Bridgestone Revos and I've found them to be way better than the Michelins. Much better in the rain also...

BFG All Terrains KO 235-85R16 Load Range E. Only tire I ever had on my '89 4X4 non-Posi Traction. Long lasting on highway, Hauled a bed full of firewood out of axle deep mud and I never got stuck. Moose00 Oo.

Michelin has an XPS traction that is a good tire, dad runs them a lot on the farm truck. Pretty good balance in road, and mud, but by far weaker in the mud then say a BFG AT or MT. I run BFG MT's right now, don't know what I'm going to do in the future, I'm thinking a little smaller then the 305's on the truck now, and a little less aggressive.

Warning, BFG AT's are very bad at picking up rocks on gravel roads, and pelting the underside of the truck.

Bfg At-ko

I have run BFG AT-KO on various trucks and love them. The hardest part is deciding what size, I like 285's that are a tad higher than stock but fit.

If you are around a lot of rocks the bead protector of the KO's is worth it. I have abused those tires in Mud and rocks and never had a problem. Here in Moab, if you look at what the locals are running, most of us are using these tires on our street / mild wheeling rigs.
