I need new tires. My originals are 245/75/16E and I can get a very good deal from a friend on Goodrich Commercial LTs that he has in stock but the size is 235/85/16E. QUESTION.

Would these tires real different because of the 235/85 to the original 245/75?

I need to know ASAP as he is holding them for me.

thanks,

Bob Caldwell

The 235/85/R16 tires will be narrower and around 32" tall. The 245/75/R16 tires are around 30. 7" tall. If you are not bothered by a narrower tire, these tires will fit on your stock rims well and should be a good replacement tire for your Ram.

It will be a little taller. A lot of people don't realize you lose half the difference on the bottom, the other half on top.

Look at my sig! When I calculate fuel mileage, I multiply by a factor of 1. 044 to correct. My rpm's are down by about 100 or so. These Michelins have 42k on them now, and look like they've got another 10-15 in them.

My truck speedo was wrong from the factory with 245/75. Tires were garbage and have always preferred 235/85. Changed to those and my speedometer is now correct.
