I know this subject seems to kinda be beaten to death lately. But I'll be in the market for some new tires within the next few months and am trying to look ahead.

I've already pretty much decieded it's between BF Goodrich Commercial T/A (currently on the truck), BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A, and Toyo M55s. I would like to step upto a 285 from the 245s but only Toyo offers a 285 tire in a E load range that I have found so far that seems to fit what I am looking for.

I'm looking for fedback from people who have run the BF Goodrich Mud Terrains and Toyo M55s. Specificaly wear and mud/wet traction.

TIA

Nathan

Have BFG M/Ts on the Ford. Have probably 20k on them. The rear tires still look like new. The steering alignment screwed up on the front and wore them out. Happened when I was real busy, and couldn't get it fixed when I needed to badly. :rolleyes:

IFS = #@$%!

Never had any trouble getting around in the mud.

Look at the weight rating on a 285 D rated tire, it's normally much high than a 245 E.

I agree. I run Cooper D rated 285s AT and pull my 29' 10,000lb 5th with no probs. I get about 40,000 on a set if I rotate regular. :D

I've run D-rated and lower tires before and had nothing but trouble with them, since I've switched to E-rated 10 ply tires I've only had one bad tire and alot fewer flats.
