Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Tire size and gear ratio???

I am thinking of putting a larger tire on the truck now that the factory skins are wearing thin. Does anyone know how big of a tire will fit on a stock 16X8 rim?? And after it's on, what kind of gear ratio change can I expect with a HO 6 Speed??

I am running 315's on a 16x8 rim.

Do you have any clearance problems with them? How much did it change the 4. 10 rear end? Any tow experience with them? TIA
