Looking for a set of tires for everything but dead of winter as I put a dedicated set of Nokians on for that. I was looking at the Duratrac in the 35/12.5 size. Rating below.

LT 35X12.50R20
121Q E BSW 34.8" 12.5" 8.5-11" 10" 18/32" E 3195 lbs 65 psi 63 lbs 598

As you can see they are 121Q but 3195 capacity but 65psi. Do I really need to run 80psi tires or higher capacity. I have a 2017 3500 and an Artic Fox 27-5l as the heaviest thing I put in the back. Perhaps 2000lbs tongue weight?

The 35x12.50r20 along with LT metric sizes over 305 are consider flotation tires. A flotation tire is rated at 65psi in a E rating rather than the 80psi in a non-flotation tire. What matters is the load rating such as the E121, ie the actual weight rating. With that said a flotation tire tends to have a bit more side wall flex so you could feel more tire sway.

If you want a non flotation LT tire that is in the 35" class, take a look at a LT295/65R20. It is a 11l.8" wide 35.1" tall tire with a 4080LB@80PSI E129 rating.

Just found this, I swear there was only an E rated when I posted this did I miss this or did they just respond exactly to what we need for heavier towing in the same size!!!

what are your stock wheels rated at?

My Son really likes NITTO Ridge Grapplers 50-60k 35/12.50 F. He paid $320 ea but have gone up. He goes to the dump pulling a dump trailer a lot in crappy conditions and the tires dig really good.
