Ive got an 05 with 4. 10's, auto and 315's and love them. I have no power issues even though I don't tow that heavy. I don't know what you tow but if you do tow heavy you might want to reconsider on the 315's but if not I would go with them cause I think you'll be happier. The truck has a great amount of power while towing with this set up so I don't think it's gonna affect you that much. The only thing I did notice more than anything is that coming to a stop took a little longer but other than that it's a good thing.

2004 2500 4x4 duel cab long bed stock

Is there much side sway between stock 265/17's compared to 285/17 I'm in need of tires myself found a Goodyear 285/17 at Sears @ $200, are an inch taller and way wider than the stock ones. Granted they are D's with 500lbs or so less weight capacity. I carry almost 800lbs constantly in now with the stock 265/17/70 with no problems. And tow almost 5000 lb boat. Thanks all around

FWIW, I gained about a 1/2 MPG over stock with my LT275/70R18 Cooper Discoverer ATRs (E Range) on MB Razor rims.

Ive got 285 BFG mud T/A's right now which I beleive are considered a 33x11. 50 and would like to go to a 33x12. 50 just for stance. Does this sound correct or ????

You guys can compromise, and get Toyo Open Country M/T's... . 295/70/R17's from www.tiredeals4less.com. They are $232 a piece !!!! I saw BajaBob was questioning if that size was available . They are load range E, and 10 ply. I'm still debating over 295's or 35". I think I'm leaning more for the 35inchers for the 06', and 285's for my 02'. Then do the KORE Recon or Chase. Oo.

i have american racing wolverines 18x9 with toyo open countrys 325 60 r18. fit with no lift at all and no rubbing, not to mention it makes the truck look real beefy and the tires are way better in the snow than the stock bfg's rugged trails

I just had these put on & noticed a much more stable ride the speedo is off by 4 to 5 mph i paid a little more than 232 but love them so far i am going to Las Vegas this week for nascar races & this will be a good test for them 550 miles 1 way also hoping to improve milage it dropped the rpms in 6th gear by 300 rpms at 70 mph now 2100 instead of 2400 hoping dealer can calibrate speedo tomorrow before i leave

Sharp looking truck !!! What is the backset on your Wolverines ?? I've heard that it needs to be arond 6"... ... it seems like alot of guys are going less than that, and might have slight rubbing o no rubbing... maybe depending on size of tire, lift or no lift... !!!!!!

You'll have to let me know how the Toyos work on the long road trip... . good test run !! I am debating on the 295's or 35's for my 06'. I have an auto trans with 3:73 gears, so am trying to figure this whole rpm at speed thing out.

Do you have pictures of your truck with the 295' on it ?? would like to see what it looks like, and how it fills the wheelwells ?? !!

BFG A/T in 305/65-17 here... love'em so far! Same height as 285 with more width. Big enough for some extra traction, not so big the handling goes to heck.

315's, 3. 73's and 6-speed shaker here. No doubt my MPG suffers from the tires. I get about 13. 5 city on winter fuel and about 15 or so on summer fuel.



I don't mind the decreased MPG in this case because at least the tires look proportionate.



I have no rubbing at all but that's due to my Tuff Country leveling kit. I had the dealer recalibrate my speedo for the bigger tires. He wanted to charge me for it so I contacted my salesman and explained how silly that sounded being that I just purchased a $30k truck from them. Salesman "adjusted" the service departments attitude very quickly.



It's amazing what "service" has come to mean in this country these days.

RHOPPE, my backspacing is 5''. I dont know about rubbing issues with other tires/rim combos but mine are 18x9 with 5'' backspacing with 0 offset. and like i said my tires are 325/60r18 toyo open country at's. i love them. have had them about 12,000 miles and they run smooth and quiet. These are wide tires, but with my speedo recalibrated with smarty im still getting 19mpg at 65mph and high 17's doing 75mph, which in my opinion is great for a 9000 pound truck, cause i cant even get close to that with my 98 ford ranger 4. 0 with stock tires

TFarrell, Thanks for the response... ... good to know info!!! I think if a guy sticks with 5"-6" backspacing , things should be fine. I think I need a Smarty,... . then I can recalibrate for bigger tires, read codes and clear them, and get extra power .

Just put some Toyo 35/12. 50/17's m/t on stock rims and they fit fine. No rubbing with stock steel rims. Just what the new megacab needed.
