I have been told that an EZ & DDII's are the towing combination that you want. 300 HP+ at the rear wheels & it'll be a towing machine! About $1100 & then of course "Air in & Air out" will have to shortly follow. Another $600-$700 there & hopefully would be safe on EGT's. Of course if that wasn't enough then a larger turbo would run another $600-$700... ... ... .
It's a "slippery slope" when you begin! Both my brother & brother in law are running EZ's & one has 275's & the other DD1's & both are real happy with the performance they see. Both running stock exhaust & the one with DD1's has a AFE Mega Cannon... ...
They both don't intend on going any further than they are because they both pull trailers approx. 8000# and have no problems.....

OK, let me sing the praises of the EZ and DD2 combo for the HO trucks. I just moved to WY (yehaw), and towed our car and trailer all the way out. Granted, the whole load was only about 5K, but it hinted at the towing performance.
ON steep hills in TN, I never got over 900° post turbo, even accelerating from 60 to 85 or so to dust a Powerstroke.
ONce we hit WY, we were up at 6000 feet, and had no EGT issues, even uphill. Never once did I need to downshift to fifth, though that would easily cure high EGT if I were towing max weight.
The best part of the EZ+DD2 combo is that you don't need a bunch of other mods. I have stock exhaust and stock intake!! I also have a stock clutch-- which is commendably holding 330+rwhp, even though I drag raced up hills with 5K behind me in 6th!! No doubt the stock clutch won't last forever, but it's good so far.
So this combo is IMHO the ideal real-world bombination for sportiness and towing. NO EGT probs, no HUGE cash outlay for other mods.
The EZ and 2s is all the fuel you can burn in the real world without turbo mods. Even when I peaked out at 32 psi, I was still leaving the slightest trail of smoke-- thus, I need more boost to efficiently burn that much fuel.
Now that I am up in the thin air, I can smoke easier (not good), and the truck needs a wee bit more cooldown time. But the 2's are easy to drive smokelessly even up here.
This is a great stopping point. In order to go farther into BOMBland, I would have to do clutch, intake, exhaust, turbo, and then finally, a wire-tap box.
My first ~120HP cost me just over a grand. Then next 100 hp or so would cost CONSIDERABLY more.
Drive a truck with this combo. TOW with this combo. . You, too, will become a believer.....
