I'm still waiting for the answer on the noise issue. I put my OEM damper back and the noise is gone.

No doubt at all that it comes from the damper. I'm not putting my Fluidampr back on until I hear what the cause is and that it will not harm my engine.

Anyone want a Fluidampr CHEAP, PM me.

Now Ron, settle down. You know everybody needs a spare boat anchor. I've got one---opps! I mean one has got me, too! It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't have to chaulk this one up in the loss column. It's quite a few coins gone, but we can live through it. Just don't get an ulcer worrying about it, because then you (we) will really be a loser then. Mark

I have a little ting in mine too, Doesn`t bother me since I can`t hear it when I am driving and I don`t spend a lot of time standing outside listening to all the rattles that a 2nd Gen 24V will make. I am very pleased with the improvements it has made for me. I have over 30k since installation. Over 14yr. and one million miles with TDR and 2nd Gen 24V.

The problem is, with our 3rd gen trucks it sounds like there's a bearing going south someplace. The noise could easily mask a real problem and would certainly effect the ability to sell or get top dollar for the truck since it sounds like there's a serious problem.

They honestly may not be able to replicate the noise. I got a significantly smoother idle and that's it.

I was hoping for decreased gear noise, but no dice on that.

Hopefully, they'll be in touch either way.

My FD didn't change ANYTHING except my wallet, and of course the new rattle I get to hear standing in front of the truck. And there is the added benefit I get of not being able to change the belt without removing the FD.

Bill

My belt was like new @ 39K. I replaced it anyway. Access to the other belt driven components is unchanged.

Because of a power steering pulley problem (outlined in another post) I got to change my belt 2 times while on the road. The first time it took me 3 hours in the rain and mud, the second time only 1. 5 hours.

Believe me, not being able to change the belt without removing the FD is a big issue with me. One more reason to leave it off for now.
